Dawson runs the Urban Sketching World blog and a YouTube channel out of Johannesburg, and she teaches this the way she talks — relaxed, minimal supplies, no gatekeeping. The lessons build: Individual objects, then food on a table, then a café interior, then a street with buildings and people in it, each chapter ending with a full sketch-a-scene walkthrough from blank page to finished ink and watercolor. She’s aiming at the person who thinks they can’t draw and wants a record of their own ordinary week, not a portfolio.
