Eighty crew members, all women and nonbinary, on a generation ship carrying humanity’s last real hope to a habitable planet, ten years out from Earth. An explosion during a spacewalk kills three of them and knocks the ship off course, and Asuka — the alternate who only made the crew as a diversity pick, half Japanese, half American, never quite belonging to either — was the only one there. So she has to find the saboteur while everyone assumes it’s her. Kitasei runs it alongside flashbacks to the brutal training academy and to a mother she left behind, and the claustrophobia does the work.
