The Utah UFO Display

Read

Salisbury was a plant physiologist at Utah State β€” a serious scientist with NASA contracts β€” who spent years in the late sixties and early seventies documenting sightings in the Uintah Basin, mostly from the Ute reservation and the ranching towns around it. Working with a local schoolteacher, Joseph Junior Hicks, who had been collecting reports for decades, he interviewed hundreds of witnesses and treated the whole thing as a data problem: Who saw what, when, from where, and what else could explain it. Published in 1974 and reissued since, it’s one of the very few field studies of a sighting cluster done by somebody with a lab. But for UFO aficionados only, and Utah ones at that.
