BLEP
The act of an animal — usually a cat — leaving a small portion of its tongue extended beyond the lips, mouth closed, apparently without noticing. Not a pant. Not a lick. Just a sliver of pink, forgotten there, for minutes at a time.
Etymology
Sound-symbolic, probably imitating the tiny sound of a tongue tip poking out. Internet slang, first recorded around 2014 on Reddit. Distinguished from mlem (a deliberate lick).
