Scheinberger’s watercolor book, and it’s aimed at people who’ve been told watercolor is difficult and precious. He isn’t. Color theory taught quickly, a small palette, the mechanics of wet-on-wet and glazing, how to keep whites, how to fix a mess, and how to work fast enough to finish before the scene changes. Lots of his own loose, bright sketches, most made on location in a book on his knee. Same argument as his drawing book: The sketchbook is yours, there is no wrong way to fill it, and the water doing something you didn’t plan is often the best part of the page.
